OUR PLEA TO HELP
SAVE HAITI

Pancanal Alumni Association, Inc. dedicates its efforts to the fundraising initiatives for Haiti. We have all learned by now that the West Indie Island of Haiti was struck by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on January 12, 2010 near Port-Au-Prince, which has left total chaos and devastation to this impoverish nation. We also learned that this was the most violent earthquake of the century as reported by the US Geological Survey at http://www.usgs.gov/corecast/details.asp?ep=117 . Please keep the neighboring citizens of Haiti in our daily prayers and our condolences to all the Haitians across the globe that has lost loved ones. This is such an unimaginable tragedy that we urge our community and all our supporters to make this nation our first priority over the next few days and weeks to come. We are so lost for words and would love to do much more. But at this time, we must allow the trained medics/nurses and professional rescue workers to do their jobs and keep them all in our prayers as well. As we know, many, many, many lives were lost, but so many more are in dire need of our help. Our world has been called to unite by a much taller order and we can and must be willing to help! We know that each and everyone of you reading this request today have a kind heart and as such are responsible humanitarians; therefore we ask that you join Pancanal Alumni Association in doing whatever you can to support the following organizations with donations. Bush are partnering to help the Haitian people reclaim their country and rebuild their lives. Their immediate priority is to save lives. The critical needs in Haiti are great, but they are also simple: food, water, shelter, and first-aid supplies. The best way concerned citizens can help is to donate funds that will go directly to supplying these material needs. Through the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, they will work to provide immediate relief and long-term support to earthquake survivors. We will channel the collective goodwill around the globe to help the people of Haiti rebuild their cities, their neighborhoods, and their families. Future allocations will be made once we know more about the situation on the ground in Haiti and the greatest needs for both the short and long term. People in Haiti are registering to let their loved ones know they are safe and well.
5. http://www.unicef.org/infobycountry/haiti_52474.html. To overcome the massive humanitarian obstacles that still face some 3 million people affected by the quake, UNICEF today issued a call for almost $120 million to support its relief operations in Haiti. The funding is part of a wider UN appeal for $562 million. UNICEF's efforts have focused on water and sanitation, therapeutic food for infants and small children, medical supplies and temporary shelter, which are also urgent needs. The first direct airlift of UNICEF supplies to Haiti arrived at the Port-au-Prince airport early this morning carrying water tanks and water-purification tablets. The flight also delivered rehydration salts, which are needed to treat the potentially deadly effects of diarrhoea, especially in young children. Please donate to UNICEF: ww
