PanCanal Alumni Association would like to thank all the Golfers, Sponsors, and Spectators that participated in our 1st Sports Weekend Charity Golf Classic on May 8 & 9, 2009 at the Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Course  to help raise funds for The Finish Scholarshp.  Our Golfers are as follows::  Braulio "Lito" Archer, Emerson "Rey" Holder, Mario "Sponge" Haynes, Sergio "Ice" Guillette, Roberto Reece, Victor "Chippy" Sisnett, Lewis "Pete" Peterkin, Piero Reece, Christopher Sterling, Gino Wynters, and Goerge Hinds III.  It is because of you, your loyalty and passion to help those in need is the reason why this event was a total success.  The Golfers and Spectators travelled from several states to show their support.  They travelled from Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New York, Nevada, Washington, Texas, and from several cities throughout California. The big winners at the event are as follows:  Christopher Sterling won the #1 Golfer 1st Sport Weekend Charity Golf Classic Award, Christopher Sterling also won the Best Putts Award, Piero Reece won the Nearest The Pin Award, Gino Wynters won the Longest Drive Award, and Sergio Guillette also won for being the first registered golfer.   We would like to thank the following organizations for their contributions:  Moreno Valley Ranch Golf Course, Caliente Bar and Grill, Newline Cinema, and HBO.  We would also like to thank the following individuals for taking the time out of their busy schedule to assist us with recruitment, promotion and other services:  Marlon & Diana Archer, Aisha Corpas, Londonn Corpas, Rey & Jenina Holder, Gino Wynters and Lori Grandison.

Eventhough our first fundraiser was a success, our fundraising initiative is an ongoing effort.  We are asking the community to step up and to continue supporting us by visiting our DONATE PAGE and donating funds directly to The Finish Scholarship. Every little bit helps!  The Finish Scholarship was develop to award $500.00 value scholarships to as many deserving and needy undergraduate students in their efforts to attain a higher education to meet their professional objectives; help increase the number of underrepresented and under-served minority students graduating from college; and help the unemployed to finish a degree of their choice by promoting and stressing the importance to finish their college education to secure employment.  Too many students start, but do not finish college and the "The Finish Scholarship" will remind them of that as well. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.  Please DONATE!
