About UsPanCanal Alumni Association, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2007 by eleven alumni from Paraiso High School Class of 1978. Paraiso High was located on the former Canal Zone in the Republic of Panama. These alumni joined forces in early 2006 to begin the planning of their 30th Class Reunion. During the initial planning meetings and discussions, it became apparent to Beverly D. Barnett, Lead Organizer, that these individuals all had something in common. They not only joined together to plan the event, but that they all exemplified very unique traits such as true camaraderie, loyalty, dedication, knowledge, wisdom, positive energy, and a strong sense of spirituality. Traits that are so archetypical of the residents from the former PanCanal communities. Eventhough over 28 years had elapsed, these individuals had the same philosophy. They also shared fond memories of their alma mater, their heritage, the Panamanian people, and the life they live on the oasis "The Former Canal Zone Communities". These memories were still alive and fresh in their minds, as if time had paused some years ago and is now resuming. Coincidently, each individual also expressed their passion and heartfelt desires to help their fellow Panamanians citizens and the general public. They wish and hope to one day be afforded the opportunity to educate, nourish the minds, and enhance the lives of many people, primarily the less fortunate. These desires and oomph to carry out such glorious services is what led these individuals to unite and form PanCanal Alumni Assocation. PanCanal Alumni Association is an exemplar organization, in that people all over the nation and abroad can unite to carryout their dreams. PanCanal Alumni Association sole purpose will be to deliver its mission and vision with the highest level of integrity, quality, love, and respect.
